Thomas was born in 1799.  Thomas' father was Thomas Herron and his mother was Agnes Johnson. He had six brothers and three sisters, named John, James, Hugh, William, Samuel, Richard, Elizabeth, Jane and Agnes.  He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He had two half-sisters named Margaret and Mary.  He died at the age of 66 in 1865.
